Brief:

Finishing touches in the hotel were a key part to the success and the brief for the bedroom cushions were no different. Skopos were asked to design a cushion fabric which fused a vibrant floral execution with something more rigid and edgy, to provide a juxtaposed design which would appeal to a younger clientele. The links to a modern style of art and the artistic elements within the hotel needed to be a vital consideration in the final print design.

Outcome:

Colours in the floral outburst on the fabric were influenced by colour schemes chosen for the curtains. Purples, pinks and cyan tones of floral explosion were brought to life in an impressionistic painterly style against the contrast of a photographic leaf and a rigid, geometric grid in statement black and white. The success of the design fulfilled the brief, supporting the Maximalist modern feel with a final floral punch on NYX beds across this Dublin hotel and is set for a larger roll-out across the NYX brand.
